Houthis claim attack on Saudi oil sites
Houthis claim attack on Saudi oil sites The Houthis have claimed attacks on two Aramco oil facilities in Saudi Arabia's Jizan and Yanbu in retaliation for air strikes on Hodeidah port and Kamaran Island. The group vowed to maintain their blockade on Saudi-linked shipping through the Bab el-Mendeb in response to the kingom's blockade on Yemen and an attack on Sanaa's international air port. The waterway has become a vital passage for the Riyadh's oil exports after US-Iran tensions have severely curtailed shipping out of the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz. “In response to this blatant and criminal aggression, the Yemeni armed forces carried out two qualitative military operations: the first targeted sensitive Aramco facilities in Jizan with dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, while the second targeted sensitive Aramco facilities in Yanbu with a number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones,” a Houthi statement said. Yemen TV subsequently reported that air strikes hit Houthi reinforcements in the country's central Marib and northern al-Jawf provinces. According to the report, the attacks killed several Houthi members, including missile-launch experts. There was no immediate from the group regarding the attack.
