Pakistan’s Sharif warns of 'unbearable consequences' amid escalation

Pakistan’s Sharif warns of 'unbearable consequences' amid escalation Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called “all sides to exercise restraint and give peace a little more chance” following the recent escalation between Israel and Iran. “The recent surge in violence in the Middle East is a stark reminder of the dangers associated with a tenuous ceasefire and the unbearable consequences it may lead to,” Sharif said in a statement on X. “Let us continue to remain on the path of peace and diplomacy which have bright prospects of success instead of violence and destruction,” he added. Pakistan has been positioning itself as the mediator between the US and Iran, while its peacemaking attempts through a truce have recently collapsed.
