In Naples, archaeologists work to learn more about a submerged Roman city

About 30 kilometres to the west of Naples lies one of the Roman Empire's most prestigious coastal thermal resorts. It gradually sank below sea level over time due to subsidence caused by the volcanic nature of the region. Today, it continues to reveal new secrets. To better understand and preserve this exceptional heritage, the universities of Naples and Salerno, with the participation of several private companies, are developing new technology as part of a research programme.
