Hamas disarming would be 'first concrete step to re-energise peace plan', but questions remain

Israel will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip until Hamas's "genuine disarmament", a political source told AFP on July 31, after the group said it had agreed to a deal involving its disarmament and Israel's exit. But officially, the country has stayed silent regarding the agreement. It was announced by US President Donald Trump and could represent the 'first step forward' since the ceasefire in Gaza, says FRANCE 24's Noga Tarnopolsky.
