Ukrainian foreign minister hold calls with Iranian, Israeli counterparts Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Tuesday that he held a call with his counterpart in Iran in order to have a “direct conversation” after a sailor was killed in a Ukrainian attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea. Sybiha said that during the call, he told Araghchi that Ukrainian actions were aimed at protecting against Russian aggression and warned against Iranian retaliation. “I emphasised the necessity to refrain from any escalatory steps, as well as to end any support for Russia’s war against Ukraine. This war is illegal and it must end,” Sybiha wrote on X.
