UK affirms ‘unwavering’ support for Lebanon Britain affirmed its full support for Lebanon on Thursday during a phone call between the Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa,Stephen Doughty and Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Youssef Raji.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Doughty conveyed “unwavering and permanent support for Lebanon” during the call.
Raji reportedly asked Britain “to exert pressure on Israel to stop its ongoing attacks on Lebanese territory” amid ongoing near-daily Israeli attacks on the country's south despite a supposed ceasefire agreement.
