Senior Iranian source warns of harsher response to further US attacks A senior Iranian source told Reuters on Monday that overnight hostilities between the United States and Iran remained a “limited and contained confrontation”, while warning that Tehran was prepared to respond harshly to any further attack.

The source, who has direct knowledge of Iranian decision-making and spoke anonymously, said conditions in the Strait of Hormuz “will become worse for vessels that violate” rules set by Tehran for passage through the waterway, adding that Iran’s retaliation against US strikes on Larak showed that “no target in the region is beyond Tehran’s reach”.
