Trump says NATO allies to deploy minesweepers to Hormuz
Trump says NATO allies to deploy minesweepers to Hormuz After declaring the ceasefire with Iran over and threatening to "hit them hard tonight", the US president said Nato allies will send minesweepers to the critical waterway. There was no independent confirmation from allies, Al Jazeera reported. Iran has repeatedly warned against foreign navies operating in the Strait of Hormuz. On 29 June, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran alone will remove mines from Hormuz in accordance with the Islamabad MoU between Tehran and Washington. He was reacting to French president Emmanuel Macron's remarks that France and Oman will cooperate with their partners on clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz.
