UN concerned about Houthi Red Sea naval blockade threats The United Nations said that it is concerned about Houthi threats to impose a "maritime embargo" on Saudi Arabia, which could potentially trigger a fresh surge in crude oil prices, disrupt fuel supplies and have further ramifications on the global economy. "It’s obviously another chokepoint. We’re already seeing the impact of the near-closure of the Strait of Hormuz and what impact that is having on the global economy," UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Monday.
