UN condemns 'intensifying' Israeli attacks on Gaza

UN condemns 'intensifying' Israeli attacks on Gaza The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan condemned on Tuesday the increased Israeli strikes on Gaza. The office recorded at least 57 Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza between 13 and 20 July, including six children. “Nine months after the announcement of a ceasefire, still nowhere is safe for Palestinians in Gaza,” he added, noting that the killing of civilians raises concerns of war crimes. He noted that many of those killed were “far away” from Israel’s so-called “Yellow Line”, a border Israel is constantly moving, “presenting a continuous threat to life as the Israeli military appears to routinely fire on Palestinians for mere presence in the vicinity of that line” in violation of international law.
