'People don't want Iran to have nuclear weapon': Trump defends higher oil prices US President Donald Trump has said the increase in oil prices was a sacrifice worth making in order to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, while predicting petrol prices would drop to pre-conflict levels when the war with Iran ends.
“I think most people, if they had a vote on lower gas prices or letting Iran have a nuclear weapon, I’d be willing to vote that it’d be a massive landslide – people don’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said while speaking to the press at White House.
“And you know what, they won’t. ” Trump also claimed that the US is winning the war “very handily” and that it will end soon, a day after he said he was considering whether to “annihilate” Iran. (AFP)
