Cargo vessel attacked near Yemen’s Hodeidah, UK maritime agency says A cargo vessel has come under attack by unidentified armed assailants off Yemen’s Red Sea coast, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). The UKMTO said it received a distress call from the vessel while it was around 56km (30 nautical miles) southwest of the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah. The agency said authorities are investigating the incident and advised ships transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity. No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
