IRGC says it struck US combat destroyers

IRGC says it struck US combat destroyers Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out attacks on US combat destroyers DDG-119 and DDG-53, which carry cruise missiles and Aegis systems, claiming it caused "significant damage" to the vessels.

State media cited the IRGC as saying that the strikes were in response to "aggressive actions and malicious harassment of Iranian tankers and ships" by the US.

"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and other armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran continue to declare their firm determination to respond to the desperate and desperate actions of the US regime and warn the enemy against any miscalculation," the statement added.
