After the fires, France's touristy southwest reckons with their economic fallout

With one of the worst wildfires in French history gradually being brought under control in southwestern Gironde region, life is slowly returning.

In summertime, that means tourism - holidaymakers are trying to get their plans back on track as hotels and campsites reopen.

But for the businesses that rely on vacationers, it will be a long road to recovery, with the already record fire season still not over.
