Trump says retailers face ‘big problems’ over fuel costs

Trump says retailers face ‘big problems’ over fuel costs US President Donald Trump has again called on petrol stations and fuel retailers to immediately lower prices, arguing that recent declines in oil prices should be reflected at the pump. “Gasoline Retailers must get their Prices down, IMMEDIATELY! They’re too high considering that Oil is now at $68 a Barrel, and heading south,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He warned that retailers should “DROP YOUR PRICE FOR OUR GREAT AMERICAN PEOPLE”, adding: “There will be no gauging, which is totally illegal. If Retailers don’t do this, big problems lie ahead!” Oil prices initially surged after the US-Israel war on Iran and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, but have since fallen following the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran and growing expectations of a broader agreement.
