South Korea foreign minister says no decision made on Hormuz Strait military deployment South Korea's foreign minister told reporters that no decision has been made on any military deployment to the Strait of Hormuz.

"Our position remains that no decision has been made yet, and we are reviewing all relevant factors,” Cho Hyun said, before departing for Washington, where he is due to hold talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on various topics, including regional and global issues.

"In doing so, we will prioritise international cooperation while giving foremost consideration to the safety of our people and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

" US President Donald Trump has pressured South Korea to support Washington in its war on Iran. On the other hand, Tehran has warned Seoul of "serious consequences" if it participated.
