How did climate change fuel the wildfires ravaging Europe this summer?

A new study by researchers from the World Weather Attribution has found that human-induced climate change played a significant role in the wildfires that have gripped France and Spain in the past week. The hot and dry conditions brought about by climate change made the fires twice as likely in France and 20 times as likely in Spain the scientists found.
