Amnesty, IPSC rally support for Palestine at Ireland’s Electric Picnic Ireland’s Electric Picnic festival became a platform for Palestinian solidarity, with rights organisations and attendees backing campaigns against Israel’s Gaza genocide. A walk organised by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) during Ireland’s popular Electric Picnic music festival received “massive solidarity” from the onlookers, IPSC said in a post on X. Amnesty International campaigned at its tent against Irish financial links to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, asking attendees to pressure the Central Bank of Ireland to stop approving the sale of Israeli bonds in the European Union, according to Al Jazeera. It is also campaigning for the release of Palestinian paediatrician Dr Hussam Abu Safia, who has been detained by Israel for 600 days now. Meanwhile, Game of Thrones actor and activist Liam Cunningham along with Irish flotilla participant Mikey Cullen took part in a discussion on Gaza at the festival in Ireland, Al Jazeera reported. The hour-long “Gaza Flotilla” conversation was held on the festival’s Manifesto stage on Saturday evening as part of its MindField programme of political and cultural discussions.
