Iran's IRGC says US MQ-9 drone downed over Hormuz Strait The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said Iran shot down a US MQ-9 drone over the Strait of Hormuz. "To the noble and proud nation, a few minutes ago, an American MQ9 long-range unmanned aircraft was hit over the Strait of Hormuz by missile fire from the ever-vigilant warriors of the Revolutionary Guard's modern air defense system and fell into the blue waters of the Persian Gulf," the IRGC wrote in a statement.
