The only fault to find was really the matter of time. The first ball wasn’t struck until 11.05 in the evening, and Shelton’s clinching ace didn’t come until 3.33 in the morning – marking, after a total of 4hr 28min on court, the latest-ending US Open match by a whopping 43 minutes. Somewhat predictably, the discourse among media and fans following the late-night match has swiftly moved on from the USTA’s misadventures in scheduling to a referendum on the five-set match and whether it should be put out to pasture. Insomniac’s three games based around the web-slinger are masterpieces of superhero wish fulfilment, allowing you to swoop above a depiction of Manhattan alive with graffiti artists, roving journalists and gun-toting gangsters. If anyone should be up to the task, it’s Wolverine. A beloved Marvel stalwart, his life much darker and bloodier than Peter Parker’s, he seems the ideal protagonist for a moody action adventure. Yet somehow this well-made game falls short of its potential. Set years before the founding of the X-Men, Marvel’s Wolverine sees a disenfranchised Logan falling back in with Sabretooth and Mystique when their mentor Nathaniel Essex is kidnapped by mutant-hating billionaire Bolivar Trask. This archetypal tech bro has a disturbing plan for world domination and the X Team are out to stop him – but there is a secret buried in Wolverine’s past that’s about to cause an eruption. Iranian media: Houthis take control of Strait of Mandeb after seizing Mayyun Island Yemen’s Houthis control the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait after seizing Mayyun Island, also known as Perim Island, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported. Located at the centre of the Bab al-Mandab Strait, Mayyun Island is a key monitoring point overlooking the vital maritime passage. Two Yemeni sources also told Reuters that Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces had withdrawn from Perim Island. The development came after Houthis seized the western coastal city of Mocha, forcing the government forces to retreat toward the south and the city of Dhubab. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree was also reported as saying that navigation in the Red Sea was safe except for Saudi ships, suggesting the group now has control over the Strait of Mandeb. Known as the "Gate of Tears" in Arabic, because of its history of shipwrecks, the strait sits at the southern tip of the Red Sea, connecting it with the Gulf of Aden in the Indian Ocean. About 100 kilometres long and just 30 kilometres wide at its narrowest point, it separates Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula from Djibouti and Eritrea on the Horn of Africa. With the Red Sea linking maritime trade between Europe and Asia, the strait is usually one of the world's busiest shipping lanes. Oil tankers and cargo ships use it to reach the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal, shortening journeys between Asia and Europe and North America by thousands of kilometres (miles). In 2024, as the Houthis attacked Red Sea shipping during the Gaza war, Suez Canal traffic fell sharply and has yet to recover, according to IMF PortWatch data analysed by AFP. Total transits dropped from 26,895 vessels in 2023, or 73.7 per day, to 14,498 in 2024 and 14,070 in 2025, AFP reported.

The regulatory guidance and advice to the trustees of the Board of Deputies Charitable Foundation, which also executes the activities of the Board of Deputies of British Jews (BDBJ), comes in response to a complaint filed by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP). In a statement, ICJP said that the Board of Deputies of British Jews had claimed that a protest demonstration held outside Edgware United Synagogue, which hosted the Great Israeli Real Estate Event, was organised on “bogus grounds”. The ICJP said that the Board made the accusations as it had relied on assurances from the event organisers that properties in the illegal settlements would not be marketed. It characterised the protest as an attempt to “harass and intimidate members of the Jewish community”. But the organisers later apologised for including several properties in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in their brochure. Emanuel Vatari, CEO of one of the sponsors of the event, the Emanuel Group, posted a list of companies participating on his Facebook page. The list included Harey Zahav, an Israeli real estate development company whose website advertises property in Negohot, an illegal Israeli settlement in the southern Hebron Hills in the occupied West Bank. Also on the list was The Meshulam Levinstein Group, a collection of engineering, construction and real estate companies. It has built residential and commercial projects in illegal settlements in both the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. One was a housing project and a commercial centre it built in the settlement neighbourhood of Homat Shmuel in occupied East Jerusalem. Another participant is the Tivuch Shelly real estate agency, which advertises properties in Ma'ale Adunim - a West Bank settlement.
