Germany tells Israel US-Iran MoU ‘best chance for stability’ in the region German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call on Thursday that the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran is the “best chance” for securing regional stability. According to a statement released by a German government spokesperson, Merz “underlined the importance of the framework agreement between the US and Iran as the best chance for stability in the region” and discussed the situation in Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories. These comments come after Netanyahu said that the war with Iran “is not over” and Israel will continue to attack them with or without an agreement to ensure Iran does not possess nuclear weapons.
