Turkish FM meets with head of Hamas’s political bureau Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met Khalil al-Hayya, the newly elected head of Hamas’s political bureau on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported, citing Turkish Foreign Ministry sources. Fidan congratulated al-Hayya on taking up the role, while al-Hayya outlined developments in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including Israeli settlement expansion and attacks on Jerusalem’s holy sites. Fidan reaffirmed Türkiye’s firm backing for what he called the Palestinians’ “just cause” and said Ankara would continue working to increase humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza and support the peace process, Anadolu report said. He also praised Hamas’s role in peace efforts.
