US hits Iranian military sites after Hormuz tanker strike, Centcom says

US hits Iranian military sites after Hormuz tanker strike, Centcom says The US military carried out additional strikes on multiple targets in Iran, saying the attacks were ordered after a second commercial vessel was hit near the Strait of Hormuz.

According to US Central Command (Centcom), Iran launched a one-way attack drone that struck the Panama-flagged tanker M/T Kiku while it was transiting near the strategic waterway carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil.

In response, US aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defence sites, drone storage facilities and minelaying capabilities.

Centcom said commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz continues and that US forces remain "vigilant, lethal, and ready". https://t. S.
