Strike closes Eiffel Tower over exclusion of female staff for Hindu group's visit

The Eiffel Tower was forced to close on Monday after staff went on strike in protest at the exclusion of female employees during a recent visit by a Hindu delegation. The Paris landmark's operator said the visitors had requested that the visit be organised in such a way as to limit “interactions with women”.
