Scorching summer pushes French wine harvest to new historic low
A sharp downturn is expected in French wine production this year after a summer of scorching temperatures that triggered widespread heatwaves and drought. The agriculture ministry on Monday said winemakers were anticipating a 6 percent drop, making it the most dire harvest for some 70 years.
