Pentagon chief threatens more strikes on Iranian oil tankers US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth says the military can attack Iran’s entire oil tanker fleet, after Washington announced strikes on three Iranian vessels following attacks on US warships. “It’s simple: if Iran shoots at US ships, we will destroy (and sink) their oil tankers. All they have to do is not shoot” at the US Navy, Hegseth posted on X. “Iran’s oil tanker fleet is defenceless – Iran has no navy or air force,” he continued. “Our planes, ships & subs can strike them all”.
