Bahrain calls on residents to seek shelter after warning Bahrain's interior ministry announced that warning sirens had been activated and urged citizens and residents to remain calm, move to the nearest safe location and follow updates through official channels.

The alert came after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had targeted the US Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain in retaliation for recent American strikes on Iranian military sites.

The latest escalation follows days of tit-for-tat attacks linked to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, including strikes on commercial vessels, US attacks on Iranian targets and subsequent Iranian retaliation against US military assets in the Gulf.
