UKMTO says crew of container ship struck off Omani coast rescued The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said the crew of a container ship attacked off the coast of Oman earlier had been "rescued by local authorities".

An Iranian missile strike on the vessel, identified by US Central Command (Centcom) as the Cyprus-flagged M/V GFS Galaxy, was cited by Washington as the trigger for a third round of US military strikes on Iran.

The UKMTO had earlier reported that a fire had broken out on board the vessel and that the crew had abandoned ship in a lifeboat.
