Saudi Arabia calls for 'comprehensive' regional navigation security Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan used his address at the UN General Assembly to call for serious international cooperation to protect freedom of navigation and stress that regional security framework should be "comprehensive".

“Protecting international navigation is a shared responsibility that requires serious international cooperation,” he said.

Prince Faisal, who led the Saudi delegation at the meeting, added that Riyadh supports efforts to reduce tensions in the region and stressed that "any arrangements for its security be comprehensive".

He also supported initiatives aimed at de-escalation, particularly efforts by Qatar and Pakistan, saying they can help restore regional stability.

The minister accused Iran of flagrant attacks on civilian and economic targets across the region, while calling on the international community to condemn Houthi actions threatening Red Sea shipping.
