Trump ‘trapped in a quagmire’, Iran’s national security council chief says The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, said on Tuesday that Iran has communicated its conditions to the US for ending the war, but Trump has been unable to make a decision.
The US president is “trapped in a quagmire where he can neither negotiate nor wage war”, Rezaei said during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, in comments carried by Iran’s IRIB news.
Rezaei added that, out of desperation, Trump has resorted to an “air blockade” of Iran, refering to the US sanctions on Iranian airlines imposed by the Trump administration earlier this month.
