UK warns British settlers in occupied West Bank of possible sanctions The UK government has warned British citizens living in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank that they could face sanctions under a new regime targeting settlement activity, The New Arab reported.

The warning included a reminder that people should be “aware of any new sanctions imposed under the regime”, while London also urged them to take note of existing official advice against economic and financial activity in settlements.

The warning comes as Britain takes a tougher position on Israeli settlement activity, which it considers contrary to international law.

The foreign office has previously estimated that between 20 and 30 British citizens were in West Bank settlements.

The figures may not cover all British nationals because they are not required to notify British authorities of their presence.
