Iran to impose restricted shipping zone near Strait of Hormuz Iran plans to establish a restricted maritime zone near the Strait of Hormuz within days, state media has quoted the country’s top security official as saying. The designated area will stretch from the boundary of the US naval blockade into parts of the Gulf. Tehran will place any vessel that enters the zone on its sanctions list, the official said.
