US strikes perimeter of Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant, Iranian state media reports The United States targeted the perimeter of Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant on Thursday, Iranian state media reported, citing Ehsan Jahanian, deputy governor of Bushehr province. Jahanian said several areas across the province were targeted, including the area around the nuclear plant, a military base in the town of Choghadak and a fishing pier in southern Bushehr. He said there were no immediate reports of casualties. Residents in Choghadak, located just over 20km (12 miles) from the Bushehr plant, reported hearing several explosions. The Bushehr facility, Iran’s only civilian nuclear power plant, has previously been affected by strikes in the area during the ongoing Middle East war.
