Pakistan and Egypt discuss escalating regional attacks Pakistan says Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke by telephone with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, about the latest regional developments as attacks intensify across the Middle East.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said the ministers stressed the importance of “close consultations” involving Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.

They also agreed to meet on the sidelines of the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York. Pakistan has played a central mediating role in the conflict between Iran and the United States.

Islamabad hosted direct talks between the two countries in April, marking their highest-level engagement since 1979.

Pakistan also helped secure the ceasefire that took effect on April 8 and temporarily suspended the fighting.
