• US president Donald Trump said he did not regret going to war against Iran despite the impact the conflict may have on the November US midterm elections.

• A Palestinian engineer, Hudaifa Hamdi Mamar, has been killed in Israeli shelling on residential areas in the Al Mawasi district, west of Khan Younis in Gaza.

• Israeli forces have abducted a young man during their incursion into the town of Al-Hamidiya in the suburbs of Quneitra, southwestern Syria.

• The United States has imposed sanctions targeting Kataib Hezbollah, an Iran-aligned Iraqi paramilitary group, as part of an effort to disrupt financial networks supporting Iran’s regional activities.

• Four unknown projectiles hit two vessels four nautical miles west of Oman's Khasab, setting one vessel on fire and leaving the status of the second unknown, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said on Thursday.
